Three-Phase Voltage Synthesizer (6440)
Portable Three-Phase Voltage Source for Field Meter Testing
The TESCO Metering Three-Phase Voltage Synthesizer (6440) provides a portable, selectable, voltage source designed to provide accurate three-phase voltage for meter testing, commissioning, and site verification when utility voltage is undesirable.
The TESCO 6440 generates isolated, low-distortion voltage outputs from 69V to 480V AC with ±0.5% voltage setting accuracy, enabling technicians to verify meter performance, validate installations, and perform intertie testing without relying on live system voltage.
The industry’s only modular meter testing platform, carry only what you need, when you need it

Description
Complete Intertie Meter Testing SolutionWhen used together, the TESCO 6440 and TESCO 6330 Meter Site Analyzer provide a complete solution for intertie meter testing, commissioning, and site verification. The 6440 provides an isolated three-phase voltage source that powers both the meter and test switch during testing. The unit can be powered from a standard 120 VAC wall outlet using the supplied power cord or directly from the site using the field power cord, allowing technicians to perform testing in a variety of field environments. The 6330 Meter Site Analyzer measures meter voltage, current, phase angle, burden, harmonics, and overall metering accuracy. The unit performs complete site testing and can provide selectable test current from 0 to 5 amps directly to the meter. Together, the 6440 supplies the voltage source while the 6330 measures and verifies system performance, creating a portable field solution for testing revenue meters, intertie installations, and other complex metering applications. Modular by Design
Unlike all-in-one testing systems that require technicians to transport a single large, heavy, and unwieldy piece of equipment regardless of the application, TESCO Metering’s approach separates voltage generation and site analysis into dedicated equipment.
The 6330 Meter Site Analyzer can be used independently for many site verification and troubleshooting applications, allowing technicians to carry only the equipment required for the task. When an isolated voltage source is needed for commissioning or intertie testing, the 6440 can be added to create a complete field testing solution.
This modular architecture improves portability, simplifies field deployment, and provides greater flexibility by allowing utilities to configure the right solution for each testing scenario.
When Utility Voltage Isn’t Available
During commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and intertie testing, utility voltage is not always available at the test location. Without an available voltage source, meter verification and system validation become difficult or impossible.
The TESCO 6440 solves this challenge by generating stable, isolated three-phase voltage that replicates real-world service conditions in the field. With selectable outputs from 69V to 480V AC, low harmonic distortion, and support for multiple service configurations, technicians can confidently perform testing without relying on live system voltage.
Its rugged field-ready design and portable form factor make it ideal for utility personnel, meter technicians, and commissioning teams who require accurate voltage simulation for revenue meter testing and system verification.
