- Advanced Metrology: Uses a digital multiplication measurement technique to track active energy (kWh) and, optionally, reactive energy (kVAh/kVARh).
- Enhanced Memory & Processing: Features twice the RAM/ROM and four times the non-volatile memory of the previous AX model, enabling more complex data profiling and power quality logging.
- Remote Disconnect (SD Models): The E351 version includes an integrated, motor-driven cam-action switch rated for 10,000 operations at full current.
- Tamper Detection: Includes a dedicated sensor to detect meter removal and insertion to alert utilities of potential unauthorized access.
- Power Quality Monitoring: Captures metrics such as voltage sags and swells, and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
- Communication: Supports modular or integrated AMI platforms, including RF Mesh and cellular (LTE-M).
Usage and Applications
The AXe is primarily used by utilities for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), supporting demand billing, Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, and load profiling with up to 8 standard channels. It is also common in grid-tie solar or wind installations due to its bi-directional measurement capabilities.
