TESCO’s Signal Strength Analyzer (SSA) is an essential field tool for utilities implementing or maintaining Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks. When a meter fails to report consistently or when deploying new meters, antennas, or concentrators, the SSA helps you eliminate the guesswork by eliminating return site visits.
Description
Unlike standard RF testers, the SSA actually joins the utility network, scans surrounding nodes, and provides real-time metrics including signal strength (RSSI), communication success rate (tickle), and data throughput. All this is presented on a sunlight-readable display with intuitive visuals to guide optimal antenna placement.
Field technicians can use the SSA to precisely identify the strongest and most reliable installation points. The device also supports data logging, network ID configuration, and USB interfacing with RadioShop software for setup, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows.
