TESCO’s Fiber Optic Coupled Ammeter is a high-voltage, True RMS ammeter designed for safe, accurate current measurement in the field. This two-piece instrument links a high-voltage line sensor to a receiver unit at ground potential using a rugged fiber optic cable, which also serves as a high-insulation barrier tested to 100 kV per foot.
Description
Unlike traditional clamp-on devices, the sensor slips directly over the conductor, eliminating moving parts and minimizing installation complexity. The system delivers a digital readout and a high-fidelity analog output (0-2V AC), reproducing the waveform of the current signal to approximately the 50th harmonic. This enables utilities and field technicians to connect standard analysis tools, such as scopes, recorders, and waveform analyzers, at ground level without exposure to high voltage.
Designed with robust urethane housings and built for harsh outdoor environments, the P02-0802 supports high-precision monitoring with advanced signal integrity in even the most demanding utility conditions
