Bridging Borders and Building Trust – Life on the Road with TESCO EVSE

This week finds me in Montreal, and next week I’ll be in Vancouver, continuing our hands-on EVSE training sessions with one of our largest Canadian accounts. We’re focusing on the T4350 EVSE Tester and the PL4150 Load Emulator, together powerful tools designed to verify accuracy and compliance in both AC and DC charging environments. It’s incredibly rewarding to see these products in action, being used to support charger deployment.

A Global Journey Rooted in Local Pride

Global partnership
As we train teams and support infrastructure growth across North America, I find myself reflecting on something important. TESCO’s EVSE Test Equipment is manufactured right here in the United States, in Bristol, Pennsylvania—the same town where TESCO has operated as a family-owned business for over 100 years. That’s a legacy you don’t take lightly.

At the same time, we’re proud to be a global company, supporting partners not just in the U.S. and Canada, but across Europe, Asia, Mexico and beyond. In today’s world where discussions around tariffs, trade policy, and sourcing have grown increasingly complex it can be a delicate balance to strike: embracing your American-made foundation while building bridges with international customers who share your values of accuracy, quality, and consumer protection.

And that’s what makes our mission so clear: we’re here to ensure fairness and transparency in energy measurement, wherever it’s needed.

What’s Happening in the EVSE World?

EV Market
Beyond the headlines on trade and manufacturing, there’s a lot to be excited about in the EVSE space right now:

  • Canada is accelerating its zero-emission vehicle mandates, with growing investment in EV infrastructure and charger verification programs.
  • Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS) are making headlines as fleet electrification picks up pace—especially for logistics and long-haul transport.
  • Revenue-grade accuracy and certification requirements are expanding globally, with NTEP and CTEP compliance paving the way for metrology standards abroad.
  • Interoperability testing and field accuracy validation are now top priorities for charger manufacturers looking to scale without sacrificing performance.

Each of these developments reaffirms the importance of trusted testing tools and my role as product manager is to stay a step ahead of what’s next.

The Product Manager’s Perspective

Life on the road as a Product Manager isn’t always glamorous, but it’s never dull! There’s something uniquely energizing about seeing the work you’ve helped shape get used in the field solving real problems, driving real progress. Whether I’m giving a demo, gathering customer feedback, or listening to new challenges, I’m reminded how important this work is, not just technically, but culturally.

Because what we’re building isn’t just hardware. We’re building confidence in a new way of powering the world.

I’m looking forward to another great week out west. If you’re in Vancouver and working in the EVSE space, let’s connect!
