We are looking for an Engineering Technician with experience related to the assembly, functional-level test, and configuration of custom prototype computer PCBAs, modules and systems in support of a Hardware Engineering development group. Responsibilities include soldering of fine-pitch devices and discrete components, and prototype hardware rework. Additional responsibilities may include revision control, inventory management, work area organization, infrastructure maintenance, and general lab safety.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience in electronic component soldering and PCB rework including very fine-pitch components.
  • Interpreting board and module-level schematics and component placement.
  • Familiarity with hardware diagnostics software tools.
  • Prototype hardware and system configuration, rework, and inventory tracking.
  • Experience using lab test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • IPC certification in rework and repair of electronic assemblies (IPC-7711/7721 or equivalent) a plus.
  • Experience in performing functional-level testing, firmware programming, and configuration of computer PCBAs, modules and systems.
  • Perform system assembly, disassembly, and to internal customers in support of the development process.
  • Good communication and organizational skills are required.

The Engineering Technician will interact with engineers, program managers, and equipment management teams. S/he will test and debug experience with custom or OEM computer motherboards, PCI-Express cards, disk drives, and power supplies and working experience in a hardware lab environment a plus.

Education:

  • Associates degree in Computer or Electronics Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician or equivalent.
