Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician.
We are seeking an Electrical/Electronics Assembly Technician to build, repair, and modify electronic production, and custom equipment, parts, components, and systems according to engineering instructions. The ideal candidate should be able to, with minimal supervision, read blueprints, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings in order to assemble electronic and electro-mechanical products. Candidate should be able work independently. The use personal judgment may be required to resolve problems and to troubleshoot assembly issues to complete the job.
Key Abilities
- Follow work instructions, utilize assembly drawings, and interpret engineering changes.
- Rework and Repair PWBs, subassemblies, wire harness and unit assemblies.
- Perform final quality inspection of repaired goods in preparation for shipment.
- Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other and uses hand or power tools to secure parts.
- Mount assembled components on chassis, panels, or circuit boards.
- Route wiring and cabling through assembly to terminals to provide electrical connection.
- Perform assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, wiring, stamping, and color-coding parts and assemblies
- Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
Experience
- Five (5) years of experience with the assembly and wiring of electrical and electronic equipment is desired.
- Ability to use small hand and power tools. Use of hand tools including soldering iron, wire cutters, pliers, crimping tools, wire strippers, measuring calipers, ruler, and tape measure. Small power tools are
drills, saber saws, and similar devices. - Having a working knowledge of soldering irons and rework stations for the repair and modification of PWBs is desired.
- Technical school or similar certifications
- Familiar with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC A-620 soldering standards is desired.
