This is an ON-SITE POSITION located in Bristol, PA.

We are growing and looking for an Electrical Engineer that has combined technical, hands-on, and real-world experiences. The Electrical Engineer will conceptualize and design small devices, test stations, systems, and equipment in support of the TESCO product line. You will perform engineering work in basic and applied research, development, and/or design of new products and/or sustaining of existing products. This position will report directly to the Electrical Lead Engineer. You will work closely with the engineering staff to understand equipment/system requirements and to ensure that the product(s) work in the application(s).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed electrical schematics and circuit diagrams using Altium Designer.
  • Collaborate with the design team to define system requirements and component selection.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop high-quality printed circuit board (PCB) layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Optimize layouts for signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • Identify and select appropriate electronic components, considering cost, performance, and availability.
  • Maintain a component library within Altium Designer for easy access and reuse.
  • Perform prototype, production, and repair troubleshooting and testing of all TESCO equipment.
  • Be proficient in the use of tools needed to perform testing and troubleshooting of TESCO equipment, including, but not limited to, DVMs, oscilloscopes, PQMs, reference standards, phase angle meters, and power quality measurement devices.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly documents and models, and technical specifications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and product managers.
  • Communicate design decisions and progress effectively within the team.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design specifications, BOMs, and design files.
  • Create and modify existing electronic documentation (e.g. AutoCAD).
  • Assist in generating production documentation for PCB manufacturing.
  • Perform design reviews to identify and address potential issues, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure designs are cost-effective and can be efficiently manufactured.
  • Communicate with customers for field troubleshooting of any TESCO equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on improvements to assembly or test procedures and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Associates or BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical product and system design.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical power generation or measurement (AC and DC).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using AutoCAD.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of single and 3 phase electrical power, including reactive loading and power factor calculations.
  • Experience in Power Metering and ANSI C12 a plus.
  • Experience in field test equipment a plus.
  • The position is mostly ‘in-office’ position, but travel could be required for certain projects. Opportunities for additional travel can be discussed with your supervisor.
