TESCO’s Southeast Regional Sales Manager Inducted into Hall of Fame
Myrtle Beach, SC (June 27, 2018) – Congratulations to Vernon White, TESCO’s Southeast Regional Sales Manager, as he was inducted into the North Carolina Electric Meter School Hall of Fame Wednesday, June 27, 2018, during the 87th Annual North Carolina Electric Meter School and Grid Technology Conference at the Embassy Suites Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Vernon is a long standing planning committee member and supporter of The North Carolina Electric Meter School and Grid Technology Conference. This conference brings together meter personnel from the electric utility industry annually to present important information on common problems, standard practices, procedures, and new technologies. Beginning in 1981, the Hall of Fame award is given for outstanding contribution and dedicated services, which ensure the continued success of the meter school.
Vernon began his career in the Army, serving for two decades and achieving the rank of First Sergeant. He married his high school sweetheart shortly after going into the Army. He and his wife Wilma have two children and recently inherited a “Grand-dog” from their daughter and her husband. Shortly after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Johnson University in Knoxville, TN in Leadership and Ministry, Vernon began working in the electric metering field and joined TESCO in June 2014.
“Everyone who knows Vernon knows how hard-working and passionate he is about our industry, his customers, and our company,” said Tom Lawton, president and co-owner of TESCO. “This passion shines through whenever you are speaking with Vernon. If you need him, he is there, even if he had to drive to you from three states away. If you need an answer he will get the answer, and if you need training, a piece of equipment, or information on that equipment he is always right there. Upon hearing that Vernon had received this award I overheard someone say ‘Oh good, he is such a nice guy.’ I believe that sums up my thoughts perfectly. Congratulations, Vernon! We are all proud of you and this recognition given by your peers, and now fellow Hall of Fame members.”
